     Paul E. McCarthy was born and raised 50 miles from New York City.  His career started in 1995 as an intern working at Victor Duncan Inc. in both the camera and lighting departments.  in 1996 he moved to an apartment on Avenue A and scored his first gig in NYC as the camera PA on “Seinfeld” 2nd Unit.  While always shooting anything he could get his hands on, He then began working in the independent scene as a camera assistant and then migrated into the lighting department.  His diverse experiences in multiple roles on set has helped make him into the complete Director of Photography.
     He now lives in Brooklyn Heights with his wife and has been shooting professionally for companies that include, michael Mailer Films, Off Hollywood Studios, Funky Pumpkin, Vertigo Films, Night Agency, Matthew Modine, the Crook Brothers, The Spike Network, The Seventh Floor. The Food Network, AETN, VH1.
    Paul is driven to work with the most talented people,  embrace technology, and make art.
